Our Approach to the Vocational Training Work

The Basic Training Program was developed by two retired technical professionals, Mr. C.K. Shah and Mr. Biren Nayak in 2021. It is designed to provide basic technical skill to the young students so that they can repair electric, plumbing and solar appliances as well as can do plumbing jobs. The program can also help individuals to get self-employment or find a job as Electrical/Plumbing Assistant.

The major features of Basic Technical Training are shown below:

  • It will target candidate of 14 years and above.
  • It will be conducted at small remote villages as well as in urban slum areas and provide the training at their doorstep with Mobile Training Center. The mobile van carries all the tools and equipment needed with a qualified trainer for Basic Technical Skill.
  • This is a short term practical training on maintenance, fault finding and repairing the household electrical, water pipe and taps, as well as solar system.
  • The training involves mainly practical hands-on experience and basic theory.
  • The course of electrical covers household electrical fault finding and repairing of wiring, switch faults, earth faults and electrical safety precautions.
  • Plumbing related training consists of repairing the domestic water piping leakage, and fixing and repairing of water taps and valves.
  • Setting up Off Grid Solar plant including solar panel, inverter, and battery.
  • Career Counseling will be provided for all Degree/Diploma/ITI/Certificate courses for 8th pass or fail students.
  • Help and guidance will be provided to develop Skill Training Center and Trainer at local level so that the training program can continue.
  • The course is about 40 hours, which can be distributed into one to two weeks as per the convenience of the students.
  • Maximum 20 students in a batch will be allowed.
  • A certificate by Koshish Milap Trust will be provided to the successful candidates.
